The members of the Association of Canadian Archivists strive to ensure governments in Canada recognize the immense value of archives for our collective heritage and for ensuring the accountability and transparency of public institutions. We also work to ensure Canada’s archival community has the resources and support it needs to preserve Canada's documentary heritage and render archives more accessible to Canadians.
Our efforts to advocate on behalf of archives and archivists include official submissions to governments and government agencies as well as letters to legislators and policymakers in support of specific initiatives. All of these are presented here, in chronological order.
If there is an important issue on which you would like to see the ACA advocate, please contact ACA President Paul Banfield.
