Senior Coordinator, Archival Electronic Records

Consider this exciting opportunity with the Ministry of Government Services where you will contribute your records management knowledge and expertise and knowledge of long-term digital preservation to preserve records for future generations.
In this role, you will:
• lead projects to develop a strategic action plan and support policies and procedures for the long-term preservation of electronic records
• provide archival and technical advice and expertise to archivists, ministries, clusters and other clients respecting the identification, description and disposition and preservation, access to and security of archival electronic records
• coordinate the appraisal of electronic records systems between the information, privacy and archives and ministries
• coordinate and liaise with relevant Ontario Public Service audiences to address long-term digital preservation issues
• stay abreast of the latest archival literature relevant to the electronic records environment including digital preservation issues and practices

What we are looking for:
Technical Skills:
• you have knowledge of archival theory and practices to provide expertise and technical advice and guidance in the application of archival functions
• you have knowledge of preservation standards, techniques and practices to develop and plan strategies for preservation, duplication and authentication of archival electronic records
• you have the ability to interpret and apply archives-related legislation and regulations to evaluate the archival value of electronic records and enforce legislated restrictions governing access and use of records
• you have knowledge of information technology hardware and software environments to coordinate the appraisal of electronic records systems and provide technical expertise and advice
Communication and Teamwork Skills:
• you have communication and teamwork skills to provide expertise and advice to archivists, ministries and clusters to develop written presentations and briefing materials for senior executive audiences and brief senior executives
Project Management and Analytical Skills:
• you have project management and issues analysis skills to facilitate and respond to complex discussions and outcomes and establish effective working relationships with a variety of partners
Policy Analysis Skills:
• you have knowledge of policy and program analysis, design and development, program evaluation and measurement systems to lead or participate in projects that develop effective policy and program strategies, frameworks and guidelines
Salary range: $69,279.00 – $88,440.00 per annum
