Michael Gourlie, Vice President, 2012-2013, is the Executive Director / Archives Advisor for the Archives Society of Alberta.  He obtained a Master's of Archival Studies from the University of British Columbia and has background in History, obtaining an Honours (Arts Co-op) BA from the University of Victoria. He has served as a member of the Governance Committee, ACA’s Review and Renewal initiative, and was Program Committee Chair for the ACA Conference held in Halifax in 2010. He is a member of the board of the Alberta Women’s Memory Project and the Friends of the Provincial Archives of Alberta Society in addition to serving as a member of several other committees within the archival community.
