Dear ACA Members,
The Students and Early Career Special Interest Section (S.E.C.S.I.S.) is excited to be hosting their first event, "KASAYSAYAN, KARAPATAN, AT KALAYAAN: RECORDKEEPING & HUMAN RIGHTS". This webinar is in partnership between the S.E.C.S.I.S and the International Coalition for Human Rights in the Philippines (ICHRP).
As archivists in Canada grapple with this country's settler colonial history and the question of how we can support marginalized communities today, the Filipino people offer an example of archivists working within and alongside a people's movement. This webinar brings together Filipino archivists and community memory workers, and solidarity activists to discuss how we can participate in and support genuine change and social justice. Participants will learn about various archival initiatives and will have an opportunity to link their work and perspective here in Canada to supporting the growing movement for human rights in the Philippines and globally.
Please join us on Monday September 22nd at 5:00pm EST (2:00pm PST and 5:00am Philippines).
