About the Organization: ARKIV 360 is a Toronto-based digitization company specializing in the professional digitization of large-scale archival and photographic collections. You can read about ARKIV 360 at arkiv360.com

Social Media: N/A

Description and Duties: We are recruiting two Digitization Technicians (contract) to join our on-site team at the Library and Archives Canada facility at 395 Wellington Street, Ottawa.

You will work as part of a small, focused ARKIV 360 team operating our professional digitization equipment on-site ( it is best if you are resident in the Ottawa/Gatineau area for this work) at one of Canada's most significant archival institutions.

The collections being digitized are historically significant photographic records — irreplaceable negatives, prints, and film† documenting Canadian life and history — held at the LAC facility. This is not a role for everyone; it demands sustained focus, genuine care, and an appreciation for the materials being handled.

Qualifications:

- Based in the Ottawa/Gatineau metro area

- Detail-oriented with a careful, methodical approach to hands-on work
- A genuine interest in photography, archival collections, or Canadian history is a strong asset — the collections being handled are historically significant, and technicians who appreciate what they are working with consistently produce the best results
- Comfortable working with computers and digital file management systems; able to follow IT security and data handling procedures consistently and without exception
- Comfortable working in close proximity to monolight studio flash equipment operated continuously throughout the working day
- Comfortable working with historical and fragile materials in a structured environment
- Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent production pace throughout a working day
- Previous experience in archival, photographic, or digitization work is an asset — full training is provided by ARKIV 360 and no prior experience with our systems is required
